Providing an Active Learning Experience, Pushing Boundaries and Extending Practice

Glasgow: Thistle Hotel, 16-17 June 2008

London: Hotel Ibis, Earls Court, 29-30 September 2008

Welcome to a new concept in diabetic foot education - a truly active learning experience incorporating a two-track system of carefully designed practical short courses that compliment the CPD requirements of today's busy practitioner. As well as the high-quality keynote lectures traditionally associated with this renowned annual event, these short courses will incorporate flash pictures, case histories and multiple choice questions (post-event certificates downloadable from the journal's website) to guarantee a varied and interactive learning experience to enable you to take back useful and useable skills to your workplace.

Tailor the programme to suit your needs and choose from the following practical courses to compliment your CPD requirements (please see full details on the attached programme):

  • Theory and Practice of x-ray requesting for non-medical staff – official IRMER course
  • Principals of practice for the diabetic foot including challenging cases in diabetic foot care, looking at the New charcot foot and the non-compliant patient. This will be followed by flash pictures and potted case histories
  • Principals of practice in non-medical prescribing including patient group directives (PGDs) and independent prescribing.
  • Theory and practice of assessing the diabetic foot including the best practice in neurological and vascular assessment followed by flash pictures and potted case histories
  • In addition, The Fifth Annual Diabetic Foot Journal Lecture will be given by Graham Leese and the keynote lecture on ‘Reducing the mortality of the Diabetic Foot’ by Matthew Young.
